What Kinney Karate Is All About
Founded in 1969, Kinney Karate has developed over the years into the world’s most well rounded system and is respected all over the planet for its exceptional instructors. Comprised primarily of Tang-soo-do, Jiu Jitsu, and Aikido, Kinney Karate also includes Modern Arnis and is heavily influenced by Krav Maga, Kempo, Shotokan and Soke Martin’s Kage Essensu. All of these arts blended and balanced with the expert curation of Kinney Karate’s most experienced instructors.
While holding strong to the rich tradition of martial arts training, Kinney Karate embraces modern methods with a focus on the individual student. We want to help each student reach their goals with effective and engaging training. All martial arts have something to offer, but one of the things that sets Kinney Karate apart is the skill and experience of it’s instructors. Kinney Karate instructors aren’t just talented martial artists, they’re also trained specifically on how to adapt and communicate the curriculum to the individual student.
After the death of our founder, Soke Kinney, in 2014, Susan Serota was promoted to 8th Degree Grand Master and given the title “Soke Dai” or inheritor of family. She now guides the Kinney Karate curriculum along with Master Seth Koehler who runs the day to day operations.
With classes throughout the week in 7 locations, it’s never been more convenient to get the training you’ve always wanted. Classes start as young as 5 years old and it’s never too late to start.
